Great toddler bed!,
About a month ago when our 2 1/2 year old boy was still sleeping in his crib he started showing up in our room in the morning without any assistance and we knew that it was time to transition him to a toddler bed. We gave him the choice of the Kidkraft boat or fire truck beds, and he selected the boat. Once we ordered the bed we showed him photos to build his excitement and anticipation for the “big boy boat bed.”
The bed arrived in a large and very heavy box, and came in quite a few pieces. The assembly could be daunting, but with the help of a power screwdriver and the right hex-head bit I was able to put everything together in about an hour. I don’t even want to think about how long it would have taken with the included allen wrench.
The bed is sturdy and attractive, and we are very pleased with it overall. Our little boy transitioned to the bed without any issue and he loves the storage area in the bow of the boat (which has a hinge that doesn’t allow it to slam on little fingers). I would recommend this toddler bed without any hesitation or reservation.

|Great kid’s bed,
I bought this for my grandsons “ocean themed” room. He transitioned from his crib to this bed without a hitch when he was about 18 months old. His crib mattress fit perfectly in this bed. I would recommend this bed.

|Cute bed for our son!,
We bought this bed for our 2 year old son and he loves it! It was a little challenging to put together, but definitely worth the time spent. It’s nice that the bed is nice and low to the ground, as our son has rolled out a few times without getting hurt. Overall, a great purchase. Very cute and functional. No complaints.

|Taj Mahal II,
This tent replaced a Spartan Sports “Big Camper”, and believe it or not, it’s bigger! This tent is perfect for casual, fair weather camping, but it does not appear to be of a heavy enough material to be a winter tent. One man can put up this tent relatively easily…it’s much faster with two. Once erected, it has room for 2 queen size or 3 full size air mattresses with room to spare, and being 6’2″, it’s great no to have to stoop either getting into the tent, or standing up in it. A great deal for the price I paid.

|Flimsy and awful,
My family and I often camp for more than a week at a time, so a large comfortable living space is important especially with small children. This is what initially attracted us to this tent, but were we wrong.
The tent was made of very cheap and flimsy material. It had nice thick tarp-like floor, but the walls were thin. Just the tension of the tent poles put the sides under stress. The material was so thin and cheap that the dew leaked through and dripped on us sleeping. Lucky for us it didn’t rain.
The poles themselves were two different types; the flexible fiberglass kind and the multi-part tubing joined with a spring-chain. 3 of the 6 poles that were supposed to be joined with a spring-chain had the spring chain pulled out with no real means to put them back together. None of tabs that snap these 6 poles together worked at all. At the top of the center pole there was bracket that was meant to hold a loop from the body of the tent. This bracket was bent on both sides, one side so bad it couldn’t be used.
The zippers on the doors were cheap and flimsy. The tension of the tent and poles made them all difficult to use. One of the zippers on the main door was broken and would not properly zip shut. The rain fly was awkward to put on and was missing 3 of the 4 plastic brackets that made the tie downs adjustable.
Overall the dimensions of the tent were advertised a 19′x9′. I am 6ft 3. When sleeping in this tent, either my head or toes touched the sides. I don’t know how they measured that as 9 feet wide. Furthermore, the sides were very slanted for a tent advertised as a cabin tent; it’s more realistically a dome tent.
And finally the instructions were terrible. It was a jigsaw puzzle to put together. If we hadn’t have had experience putting other tents up, we would not have figured out how it was supposed to go together.
If you are thinking of buying this tent, keep looking it’s not worth your time.

|Decent Enough,
We chose this tent mainly for the size at the price. (It was ~$130 when I purchased it.) For those of you who want to cut to the chase, I like this tent, but now seeing others out there in the same price range, I would probably choose a different one.
Why? Well…here’s what I like and what I don’t like.
~ It’s huge. We had four twin mattresses (essentially two kings) in there with about 5 feet left between them in the middle. Previous reviewer is correct, sides do slope, but it’s not bad for me. We had a couple feet ot spare at the ends of the air mattresses. We don’t use the room dividers.
~ Pretty easy to set up. I have had this tent up and down about 6 times now and haven’t had any problems. I’m a nearly 40-year-old woman and I can do it by myself in about 10 or 15 minutes. I do see what others have said about the sides getting tight if not on prefectly flat land, but I have found that as long as I set the tent “with the slope”, it’s fine. We just had it on a slope for 5 nights and no problems.
~ Water. Ugh. Well…I bought silcone tent waterproofing spray and sprayed the tent like crazy. Took 3 or 4 cans, but sides and seams do not leak! As for the rain fly. It’s not my favorite. It did NOT leak on us during a sustained (3-4 hours) heavy rain, but there was no wind. However, when we were sleeping in a severe thunderstorm, with crazy winds, we were getting sprayed on. The problem is that the wind was blowing the water up under the rain fly. However, my cousin, who was in a totally different kind of tent (a large coleman dome tent) was having the same problem. So…our solution (because our next investment will be a camper and not another tent) was to use magnets to secure the rain fly to the actual tent. So…we have no more water issues…except for where the extension cord comes into the tent. Which leads me to my next complaint…
~ Wish it had a extension cord/plug component so you didn’t have to run the extension cord through a door.
~ Sprayed the exterior of the tent with bug spray when we arrived at the campsite, had no bug problems in the tent, and neither my husband nor my kids are good about zipping the doors all the way. :~/
~ We use the room divider hooks on the sides of tent to hang the Coleman hanging tent organizers.
So, like I said, I like this tent, but since I’ve seen others of similar size in the same price range, I would probably choose a different one if I were doing it over.
